Sergio Busquets made a prolific career at FC Barcelona. The midfielder played for the first team since 2008 and never left the club that he loves. He went through everything in the institution and, even though he had chances to leave, he always decided to stay as he feels comfortable there.

Now that he is 32 years old, things may change for him. Head coach Ronald Koeman is a bit tired of the physical condition of the midfielder, who was injured during the FIFA international break with Spain national team. The coach is thinking on axing him and using younger players in his place.

As it was reported by Spain and confirmed by Barcelona, Busi will now lose the games against Atlético de Madrid (November 21 for LaLiga) and Dinamo Kyiv (November 24 for Champions League). His replacement is set to be Milamel Pjanic, the Bosnian midfielder who arrived from Juventus recently.

The destiny of Busquets could be far away from Barcelona and, due to his age, it is probable that if he leaves, he will do it to a more eccentric club, such as Andrés Iniesta or Xavi Hernández did when leaving Barcelona. With a contract until June 2023 he will have to negotiate with the club to leave If Koeman considers him transferable.
