Barcelona and Lionel Messi have been in conflict for the last months. The club was afraid that he could move if PSG or Manchester City paid his release clause and departed before the end of 2020-21 season. At last, the Argentinian stayed, but now his contract is running out, and there is no decision yet. Coach Ronald Koeman seems stressed out too.

After the conflict started, French giants PSG started a sort of media campaign to try to convince the Argentinian master to join them. His countrymen Ángel Di María and Leandro Paredes, who share the national team with him, have expressed their desire of welcoming him to Paris in the future. A free transfer could be possible in the upcoming summer.

Among the whole discussion, it was Di María who has apparently ‘leaked’ some juicy information on his team-mate partner’s future. After PSG’s last game in Ligue 1 he was interviewed by the official TV broadcast with an interpreter. When asked on Messi, he said: “Oh, we would love so. I think there are lots of possibilities”. It’s not clear if he referred to many different possibilities in Messi’s future, or in fact, that it’s really likely he moves to PSG in July.

Di María’s words seem to have pissed Koeman off. The coach was asked about this in the press conference after the dramatic 5-3 win over Granada in the Copa del Rey. Now, ahead of the Champions League clash between the French club and Barcelona, he said it’s absolutely disrespectful that so many people from PSG speak about Messi.
