Ronald Koeman is not being exactly adored at FC Barcelona. The team has had bad results but has been going better lately. Despite that, his future as coach of the Cules is uncertain. And in the press conference before the away match versus Granada, he said something that nobody could take seriously.

That is because the manager, who once was a great defender, said that he sees himself in Lionel Messi. The comparison was quickly ridiculed by the fans on social media, who could not believe how the coach they did not like said he was like the best player of the history of soccer. But he was talking about their personalities.

Because Ronald Koeman said that Lionel Messi was like him in the sense of having an expressive personality that does not hide when he is angry or upset, and those are signs of a winning mentality in someone who enjoys training and playing matches. And that is what the Dutch sees of himself.

In fact, that exact winning mentality is what is taking the Argentinian away from FC Barcelona. He has been trying to leave the club, and will probably do when his contract expires in June, because he does not see a future of victories and titles like he experienced in previous times with the club.
