Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman spoke for the first time since president Joan Laporta announced on Thursday his continuity for next season, explaining that he is glad that he has given him "his support".

"I'm relieved to say that my players and coaching staff can now fully focus on the new season," wrote Koeman, who has one more year on his contract, wrote on his social media.

In addition, the Dutch coach admitted that "the last weeks have been intense", but that now "calm has been restored".

Koeman closed his text with a message of unity: "The goal of everyone at the club is the same: Build a winning Barça and achieve success!"

At the moment, the club has already announced three signings so far this week to reinforce the squad: Sergio Agüero, Eric Garcia and Emerson Royal; while a new addition will be part of the club's offices: Jordi Cruyff, as director of football.
