Pep Guardiola and Zinedine Zidane have never been on the same side. One is a FC Barcelona legend as a player and coach, the other is so for Real Madrid. Now Pep is at Manchester City, but that does not mean they have stopped competing with each other, quite the opposite.

Because they have been plenty of times in the same situation in the transfer market. The competition for new signings was always there, and many players have been wanted by both simultaneously. Even, Kevin De Bruyne might leave the Citizens and join the Casa Blanca. And David Alaba will probably choose Madrid over Manchester.

So Guardiola wanted revenge, and found it in Sergio Ramos. Zidane wants him to renew his contract so bad, but it looks like the board will not offer him the extension he wants, and will not there be a deal. The Catalan, according to ESPN, wants to take the captain and defender to Manchester, what would be a stab in the back for Zizou.

Ramos's contract will expire on June 30th, and has been free to negotiate with anybody since New Year. He has the desire of continuing his legacy at Real Madrid, but that might not happen. And Guardiola is watching attentively, wanting to convince one of the best defenders ever of moving to the Premier League.
