Pep Guardiola is not a fan of milestones as he often fumbles it. The Spanish manager was in the Etihad dugout for the 200th time today and Crystal Palace made sure they ruined the party as spearheaded by Chelsea academy graduate Conor Gallagher who is on loan with the Eagles.

Palace took the lead within six minutes through Wilfred Zaha who scored his 50th Premier League goal and was assisted by Conor Gallagher. He is the first player for Crystal Palace to reach the milestone. City were down to 10 men shortly before halftime after Aymeric Laporte was shown a straight red for a last man foul.

Conor Gallagher returned in the closing stages of the match to ensure that there was no way back for Pep Guardiola's side as he scored a beautiful goal to make it 2-0 for the visitors. Guardiola has now accepted many things went wrong for his team. “We conceded the first goal and after we worked really well but after played 10 against 11. We need to do everything right but the players showed character. Unfortunately, it went wrong in many, many things."

Guardiola's team lost ground in the title race after Chelsea beat Newcastle United convincingly 3-0 even though Liverpool drew to Brighton. City's next league game is a Manchester derby against Manchester United who beat Tottenham 3-0.
