Transfer markets are usually hectic, especially in the last days or hours. It’s common to see teams battling for the same player, coaches arguing with boards, or things like that. What is not so normal is to see two coaches in an argument. This time it happened between PSG’s Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham’s José Mourinho.

Pochettino was sacked from Tottenham a year ago, despite he took the team to the UEFA Champions League Final in 2019 after two transfer markets being unable to bring new players due to a punishment. Curiously he was replaced by Mourinho immediately after he left. Later, the Argentinian joined Paris Saint-Germain.

Now, he wants revenge from Tottenham by signing one of the Spurs’ best players who was almost raised by him. It’s no other than Dele Alli, who has been playing very few minutes with Mourinho, and seems keen to leave the club. His market value, as per Transfermarkt, is €38 million, almost $46 million as per exchange rates. Three years ago, it was $121 million.

Mourinho seems willing to go on and close a deal that could take 24-year-old Alli on loan to PSG. Still, the Portuguese coach has put a condition: he wants Tottenham to sign a replacement first. Who could that be? Possibly, Spurs could call Christian Eriksen back, who moved from Tottenham to Inter Milan.
