Jürgen Klopp or Thomas Tuchel: who is the best German coach in the Premier League?

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel and Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp are the two German managers left in the Premier League after Norwich City fired Daniel Farke. How do the two managers compare in terms of titles won?

Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel share a similar journey in their managerial careers, with Tuchel having replaced Klopp on two occasions, first at Mainz and secondly at Dortmund. The two have had similar levels of success at the different clubs.

Klopp's first major success came at Dortmund when he won two German league titles while Tuchel's came at PSG where he also won two French league titles. Both are winners of the UEFA Champions League, Klopp won it with Liverpool in 2019 while Tuchel won it with Chelsea in 2021. Both managers reached and lost the final in previous seasons.

Both managers have won nine major titles each and it's hard to differentiate them in that regard. Both are disciples of Ralf Rangnick, the master of the gegenpressing, a high energy system of football but Tuchel has added possession based football he learnt from Guardiola to it.
