The Premier League has a problem before it next week. Just before the international break, some clubs will object to letting their players go with the national teams. The first to speak was Jürgen Klopp and he did so in a very forceful way. In his statements, he implied that Liverpool footballers will not go with their national teams if they are forced to do 10 days of quarantine when they return to the team, depending on the countries they have visited.

"Everyone will agree that we cannot let the players who leave with the national team and when they return have to do 10 days of quarantine in a hotel. That cannot be. FIFA has been very clear that we do not have to let the players go this time and I think all the clubs agree that with these problems we cannot let them go. We cannot wait for them to come and have to do 10 days of quarantine, that is not possible", clarified the coach, whose team would be totally disarmed if this finally materialized.

The German coach, who also has many injured players, does not want any more shock for the final stretch of the season. This would affect footballers like Alisson, Firmino, Fabinho or Diogo Jota: "I understand the needs of the different federations, but we have to admit that the clubs are the ones that pay the footballers and are the ones that have priority. It is a moment in which We cannot please everyone, we are not 100% sure that some countries have to change the venue of their matches and play in other red alert sites. The situation is similar to that of the Champions League in that we had to wait until the last second", he assures.

In addition, Klopp dropped that the last outbreak of the pandemic in the club occurred when the footballers returned from playing with their national teams, so he does not want it to happen again: "In recent months, when someone left the bubble, there were more cases when we all got back together. Yes, England is doing well and everything looks promising, but these things worry us", he concluded.

What players could not travel, if their clubs do not allow it?

Without a doubt, if this measure becomes effective, the South American countries will be the most affected by the determination. In particular, those selected from Colombia, Brazil and Argentina, 3 of the main powers of the continent. Colombia, would lose James Rodríguez, Yerry Mina, and Jefferson Lerma. La Verdeamarelha, would be left without Firmino, Fabinho, Thiago Silva, Ederson, Gabriel Jesús and Richarlison. Argentina, would suffer the same with Emiliano Martínez, Manuel Lanzini, Giovani Lo Celso, Erik Lamel and Sergio Aguero. Uruguay, for its part, would be left without Edison Cavani as the main figure.
