Jose Mourinho is taking Tottenham at its peak. Spurs are currently on top of the Premier League, are candidates to win it for the first time since 1961 and have pretty good chances of lifting UEFA Europa League too. His second seasons in his club tend to be the most successful, and Tottenham are right now experiencing this phase.
But the Portuguese is not free of critics. Gary Neville, who played over 600 matches for Manchester United and now works as a pundit, said Mourinho had already past his peak from a long time ago and he should not hope to achieve much with Spurs. Mourinho managed Manchester United and won three titles, but was fired due to bad results.
So Mourinho, as charismatic as he has always been, answered if he was past his peak, he would not have reached the three titles won at United and would not take Tottenham to the place it is now, and other coaches, referring to Neville himself, have not even been close to that mark.
Neville has had a short stint at Valencia in the 2015/2016 season, but it did not last. That was his first and only experience as a coach and Valencia fans have not the best memories of him, with the highlight of being defeated 7-0 by Barcelona. After leaving the Spanish club, he committed to only appear on TV as a journalist.
