Pep Guardiola reportedly earns a salary of €22m per season at Manchester City which no doubt puts him as the highest ever paid manager in the history of Manchester City. The two most recent managers before Guardiola in the Sheikh Mansour era did not earn as much as he earned combined. Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini were Manchester City's manager of the Sheikh Mansour era before Pep Guardiola and both earned a combined £6m a year at different times of their managerial eras at Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola's predecessors did not earn as much as the Spaniard currently earns at the club. Roberto Mancini earned £2m per year while Manuel Pellegrini earned £4m. Both were successful and won trophies at the club but none has dominated English football like Pep Guardiola has dominated with his style of football, number of trophies won and records he has set.

When did Guardiola arrive at Manchester City?

On February 1, 2016, it was announced that Pep Guardiola will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season and take over at Manchester City the following season. He had been at Bayern Munich for three years. He signed a three years contract which was due to expire in 2019, before the end of the contract, he signed a two years extension and early 2021 he signed another two years extension which will keep him at the club till 2023, which means he would have spent seven years on the job, which will make it his longest job ever in his career.

When will Guardiola leave Manchester City?

Pep Guardiola will leave Manchester City in 2023 at the end of his contract, he has already confirmed. He said this at an event organised for Brazilian company XP Investimentos. "The next step will be a national team, if there is a possibility. After seven years at this club, I think I'm going to have a break. I will need to rest after being somewhere for so many years and also stop to evaluate what we've done and to try to learn from other coaches. If, during this process of stopping, there is a chance to coach a national team, then I think I'd like that. I'd like to coach at a European Championship or Copa America or World Cup. I'd like to experience that."

How many trophies has Guardiola won at Manchester City?

Pep Guardiola has won 10 trophies in his five years so far at Manchester City, League titles and domestic cups but the only trophy eluding him is the UEFA Champions League. He made the final last year but lost to Chelsea.
