He was going to be the successor of Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid and is one step away from going to Borussia Dortmund

After two seasons and a half, Borussia Dortmund decided to kick head coach Lucien Favre. The Swedish aged 63 has managed the team for the last time on the tremendous defeat against VfB Stuttgart 5-1. Sport advisors from the German club considered that such a thing was inadmissible and kicked him.

For now, Edin Terzic, who has been the assistant, will now be the replacement, even though that may not happen for a long time. Favre has previously coached Echallens, Yverdon-Sport, Servette FC, FC Zurich, Hertha Berlin, Borussia M’Gladbach and Niza. Now he will try to find a new club.

Looking to the future, Borussia Dortmund consider that signing a new coach is certainly an option and that one could be Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentinian was very near to arrive to Real Madrid, if Florentino Pérez decided to kick Zinedine Zidane, which finally didn’t happen.

As Zidane stayed, now his chances of arriving Borussia Dortmund are very clear. Since he left Tottenham, the coach has been a free agent, waiting for a good opportunity to work once again. The German club will face Lazio on Champions League round of 16, in a game that could define the future of Terzic.
