Atlético Madrid coach Diego Simeone assured that they could not play the game they had raised against Liverpool (2-0) due to the early expulsion of Felipe, which changed the duel, in addition to highlighting the ability of his players to suffer in the second half in the fourth day of the group stage of the Champions.

“In the first half they started well and we also with a play from Carrasco and a corner from Correa that we failed to score. Then came their first goal, the expulsion and from there everything began to be more complex. It is a team that has a lot of forcefulness and we could not play the game we wanted”, said Simeone.

“Already in the second half we tried it and it helped us to realize that when we work with the highest concentration, we defend well. Anyone else loses 6-0, but we were calm. We were waiting for an opportunity to have gotten into the game, Suárez's goal arrived but it was offside and nothing, so we reached the end”, declared the Argentine coach.

Asked about Liverpool's goals, Simeone said they were not a failure of his defenses. “Surely it is a lot of precision from them. The first is a shot-center from Arnold and they manage to play at a speed that they get a lot out of their game", he added.

In addition, regarding the expulsion of Felipe, the mattress coach assured that the same play “happened to Giménez against Porto, but this time the referee interpreted that it was expulsion. I did not see it repeated but what he commented that he had spoken with the referee, expelled him because there was a stomp from behind and he understood that it was red", he said.
