FC Barcelona is in a bad place, economic crisis aside. The team is not performing and Ronald Koeman admitted that he needs a striker, after he kicked Luis Suárez out on the phone at the beginning of the season. In the other side, Atlético Madrid is the leader of the league by a wide margin and the Uruguayan is one of the top scorers.
The Colchoneros will face Valencia and in the pre match conference press, Diego Simeone talked about his striker and how committed he is with his new club. And said something about that that will not like Koeman, because it will remind him of the mistake he made letting him go in August.
Diego Simeone told that Luis Suárez was dying for showing he still has quality in him, after FC Barcelona board at the time thought of him as done and useless for a top club. But in the end, only one of both parts is doing brilliantly while the other is struggling. And it was not like Koeman was thinking.
Luis Suárez has 11 goals in the Spanish League, an impressive number taking into account that he missed out on a handful of matches because he tested positive for COVID-19. He has the same amount as Lionel Messi, and both are just one goal behind the top scorer, the Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri.
