Carlo Ancelotti is already starting to make decisions at Real Madrid. The first has been to bring forward the start of the preseason, which will basically take place in Valdebebas. Zinedine Zidane had summoned his footballers on July 12, but Carletto has decided to advance the work a week. Thus, the whites will start the 21-22 on July 5.

The advance of the preseason has been the first decision of the new Madrid coach, just 24 hours after his presentation after signing the contract at the Valdebebas offices with Florentino Pérez. The Italian arrives wanting to see some footballers about whom many decisions will have to be made this summer, as he announced in his presentation press conference. "We are going to reduce the staff," said the coach.

The Madrid preseason will take place almost exclusively at the Real Madrid City facilities in Valdebebas. The restrictions derived from the pandemic prevent the white team from playing the International Champions Cup, the summer tournament that for a few years has brought together the best teams on the world scene in different venues.

Like last summer, then still under the command of Zinedine Zidane, the white club will carry out the bulk of its preparation at home, although traveling to some cities in Europe to play two or three friendlies isn't ruled out.

As is logical, because of the dispute of the Eurocopa, the Madrid will begin to work under minimums. The footballers not called up by their national teams will be the first to start working, and the rest of the internationals will gradually be incorporated, depending on the result of their countries in the European national team tournament.

In total, there are 13 players in the first team who have commitments with their national teams this summer. Kroos, Varane, Benzema, Modric, Courtois, Hazard, Alaba and Lunin face the Eurocup; Valverde, Casemiro, Militão and Vinicius Jr. compete in qualifying matches for the World Cup in Qatar. Rodrygo, for his part, plays friendlies with the Brazilian under-23 team.
