Barnsley fans showed anger and disappointment after Gerhard Struber opt out

Barnsley fans were ireful when they were acknowledge about Gerhard Struber’s decision to leave the club. Although the Yorkshire side wasn’t having a positive season, the fans recognized the work of the manager who saved the club from been relegated from The Championship last season.

Struber arrived to Oakwell last November while the team was at the bottom of the table and with just one win in the whole season. The 43 year-old coach, who previously coached Wolfsberger AC in the Austrian Bundesliga, helped the team remain in the league and improved their playing style.

On Twitter, fans were rageous about the matter. They blamed the Barnsley Board for Struber’s decision after the club’s executives failed in bringing in the reinforcement pieces asked by the Austrian coach.  One of the fans even went further and accused the Board of defunding the squad during the tenure of the last three managers.

Nonetheless, it must be said that Gerhard Struber has a historical connection with the Red Bull organization. He is a former player of Red Bull Salzburg who latter on coached youth sides of the team. Struber has coached great talents like Takumi Minamino, Haidara Amadou and Steffan Laimer while they were youngsters.
