Former Chelsea and Juventus manager Antonio Conte is the front-runner to take the Manchester United job if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sacked. Multiple journalists are reporting Conte has an agreement with United in place already and will step in whenever it happens, if it happens soon.

Conte is a serial winner and has won league titles with Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan but he has a terrible record in UEFA competitions especially the UEFA Champions League, a competition he has not fared well in at his different clubs.

Conte has managed a UEFA Champions League season on five occasions and has proceeded beyond the group stage twice, one round of 16 elimination and a quarter final elimination. He made the 2020 UEFA Europa League final with Inter Milan but lost 3-2 to Sevilla.

In total he has managed 34 matches in the UEFA Champions League, he has 12 victories, 11 draws and 11 defeats and has won just three of his last 15 games in the competition, such a damning record for a manager of his calibre.
