The management of Al Sadd agrees to release Xavi to Barcelona after receiving €5 million euros as payment of his release clause stipulated in his contract.
The authority said they've agreed with Barcelona to release their manager even though Xavi is and will be part of their history. They wish him success in his new role as the manager of FC Barcelona.
In their statement reads: "The Al Sadd administration has agreed on Xavi’s move to Barcelona after the payment of the release clause stipulated in the contract. We’ve agreed on cooperation with Barcelona in the future. Xavi is an important part of Al-Sadd’s history and we wish him success.
"Xavi informed us a few days ago of his desire to go to Barcelona at this particular time, because of the critical stage his hometown club is going through, and we understand this and decided not to stand in his way."
Xavi will be returning home to Camp Nou where he has spent most of his life and looking forward to bringing back the glory days of the club as they were presently at their lowest in decades. He will succeed Ronald Koeman who was sacked a few days ago after a poor run this season.
