The schedule of the next games was known and Heath triggered the controversy. After Sunday's game against Kansas City, the Loons will travel to play the Houston Dynamo on September 19 and finally against the Colombus Crew on September 23. Previously, they will play at home against Real Salt Lake.

“Sometimes people that make these schedules or make these decisions don’t take into consideration there’s people’s livelihoods at stake here. If you have 10 games and three at home, it could have a serious effect”, Heath said on a video conference call with reporters.

The Loons are finishing a stretch of five games in 16 days, with FC Dallas and Sporting KC each having more rest going into both matches.
