The Argentine National Team drew without goals on their visit to Paraguay and continues to stretch their unbeaten streak. Under the leadership of Lionel Scaloni, they reached 23 games unbeaten and it is already the best historical streak of the National Team: the top, of 33 games without knowing the defeat, belongs to the Coco Basile team between 1991 and 1993.

Lionel Messi's team lost for the last time in the semifinals of the Copa América 2019, against Brazil, and then did not fall again. And in the process, in addition to qualifying matches and some friendlies, they broke the title drought (the last one was precisely with Basile) and was champion at the Maracana, against Brazil. In total, Scaloni led 34 matches for the National Team, with 21 victories, 11 draws and 4 defeats.

Scaloni's undefeated was ten games away from Basile's and, if the streak continues, he could equalize it in June 2022, against Italy, in the match that will face the champions of America and the Euro. There have been nine Playoff matches before, including the suspended vs. Brazil, but beware: it can also happen earlier if a friendly appears.

The match against Italy still has some details to be confirmed but it is known that it will be in June next year, in one of the last windows prior to the World Cup in Qatar, which starts on November 21. It is worth clarifying that, with the fall of the Azzurra in the Nations League, the Argentine National Team is today the national team that has not lost the longest in the world.
