Cristiano Ronaldo left Juventus at the beginning of the season to join his former club Manchester United in the English Premier League after an unsuccessful spell with the Old Lady of Turin.
After his departure, Club legend and captain Leonardo Bonucci made comments about how the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo disrupted the system of the team as all of them relied on his capabilities to carry the team. The residual effect of that particular statement is still very much visible with the performance of Juventus this season.
They have performed woefully and looked lost most of the time on the pitch. Juventus are currently 8th on the Serie A table after suffering a 0-1 defeat at home to Atalanta, their third home defeat this season. They have played 14 games in the league winning just six, losing five and drawing three. They managed to score 18 goals and shamelessly conceded 16.
They suffered their biggest defeat in a very long time in the Champions League when Chelsea thrash them 4-0 at Stamford Bridge in England. They may fail to qualify for next year's UEFA Champions League considering the competition in the league. Goal scoring has been a very difficult task post Cristiano Ronaldo and a ton of defensive errors.
