Xavi's long awaited managerial debut at Barcelona happened over the weekend and it was a Catalan derby against Espanyol, a match Xavi Hernandez himself excelled in as a player with his most wins and most goals coming in the fixture.

The match had the Camp Nou buzzing, turning out their second largest attendance this season only behind the El Clasico attendance record. 74,418 Barcelona fans turned up for Xavi's first match and made their presence felt in support of their legend.

The average price for the ticket for the Espanyol match was €37 which means with 74,418 people in attendance Barcelona generated an average of €2,753,466 in ticket sales for the match. If they have such attendance in one more match they'd have generated Xavi's release clause of €5m paid to Al-Sadd.

Barcelona's next game is a UEFA Champions League match against Benfica, a must win match for FC Barcelona if they are to retain any chance of proceeding to the knockout stages of this year's Champions League.
