Diego Lainez was signed by Real Betis on January 2019. Although he played nearly 30 games, he currently running out of minutes in the Andalusian team coached by Chilean Manuel Pellegrini. However, he wants to change the coach's impression and earn a spot in the starting team.
According to the Canal Sur Radio, from Seville, Spain, an MLS team approached him with a millionaire proposal. Although the name of the franchise that offered for the 20-year-old player wasn't communicated, Canal Sur acknowledged that the amount they were willing to pay for the youngster was far beyond 15 million dollars.
Lainez rejected the proposal without hesitation because his intension is to stay in Europe and find his pace. Moreover, he will continue to fight for a place on Real Betis's squad. The Mexican player is very confident about himself and believes that with hard work he can reverse his situation and earned a spot.
In addition, he declined some more offers from other Spanish teams. This possible destinations didn't convinced him either. In fact, Real Betis wasn't convinced of letting the prodigy go. Nontheless, the poor Lainez's prominence at Betis took him out of the call-up of Tata Martino's Mexican national team on the current international window.
