Manchester United's caretaker manager Michael Carrick, who was installed after Ole Gunnar Solskjær was sacked has announced his first lineup that will play the match against Villarreal in tonight's Champions League game.

He opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation and brought back some suprise names with Alex Telles at left back, he put faith in Donny Van de Beek to start ahead Bruno Fernandes in the number 10 role while Anthony Martial is preferred as the number 9.

He once again stuck with a midfield of Fred and Scott McTominay which many have criticized but their numbers prove they are United's best option. Captain Harry Maguire is paired in defence alongside Swede defender Victor Lindelof.

Manchester United's squad value is €911.25m, one of the most expensive squads in Europe, not surprising considering that Ole Gunnar Solskjær spend £500m in three years. The squad put out tonight by Michael Carrick is worth €408m, almost half of the total squad value and more than the entire Villarreal squad which costs €334.4m.
