Sergio Santos Gomes could be the new Jozy Altidore and leave a fortune for Philadelphia Union

The Union’s season so far has been wonderful. They were struggling to get to the first spot and they had a really difficult challenge this weekend. They passed it, and not only that, they demolished Toronto FC, the team that seemed to be invincible. The MVP of the match was clearly Sergio Santos.

The Brazilian scored a hat trick and he has now five goals in the last six matches. He is the MVP of the team that now become the main candidate to win the MLS title. With 26 year old, he has a lot of potential and if a European club finds out that he is one of the best in the league, someone will sign him.

The last important striker that left the MLS as a prospect was Jozy Altidore by 8.8 million dollars. He was a bit younger and it was several years ago, but the money that European clubs usually spends on strikers is still a lot. Where will he play next season? Maybe Philadelphia makes a huge effort to retain them.

So far, Sergio Santos Gomes has 16 appearances this season, with 7 goals and 2 assists. He will be a key player for the Union in the postseason where they are expected to get at least to the Conference Finals. Right now, nobody can take away the dream of Philadelphia fans and his MVP.
