DC United has already started the search for a coach for the coming MLS season. Although there are several names, there is a candidate who seems to be the preferred one for the owners of DC United. Not surprisingly, DC United is interested in hiring Jill Ellis, the former USWNT coach. She would be the first woman to coach in MLS.

Ben Olsen stopped being the coach of DC United after 10 years in command of the first team and from the club the information was leaked that Jill Ellis would have many opportunities to become the new coach of DC United. The English woman who is well known in the United States for having won two world championships with the USWNT would welcome this proposal.

Never before in MLS history has a team been led by a female coach, but DC United is confident and aware of Jill Elis' coaching capabilities. DC United would have offered him the position with the idea of it being long-term. They would offer you a contract of at least 3 years. That the club has offered to make the job such an important project is very good for Ellis and for MLS.

DC United is last in the MLS standings and has already forgotten to compete for the MLS Cup or enter the playoffs. The last 5 years were terrible for DC United as in no one could they come close to fighting for the MLS Cup. DC United's last competitive team was when Wayne Rooney was part of the DC United attack with Acosta.
