Even if Hirving “Chucky” Lozano didn’t have the best of the seasons since he moved to Europe back in 2017, he’s still one of the best Mexican players in the top five leagues of the world, although it’s yet to be seen if he remains in Serie A for the 2022-23 season.

Hirving Lozano already decided where he will play next season

The 26-year-old right-winger played 30 games in Serie A this season, although only started 20 of them, given that the injuries that he suffered mostly during his participations with the Mexican national team prevented him from earning regularity.

But the Mexican international has also struggled with the adaptation in Luciano Spalletti’s system, as the Italian coach hasn’t found a place for him on the starting XI, something that didn’t benefit the strengths of “Chucky”.

But even if Lozano knows it, according to reports, he’s requested to both Spalletti and Aurelio di Laurentiis to remain in Napoli for at least another season, as he wants to play in the team that he knows the most prior the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Napoli, making it harder for him to stay

The Azzurri already decided to make him one of the transferable players from the roster for summer transfer window, as he’s one of the most valuable players on the roster and his departure could help the finances of the club.

But they also know that there’s a possibility of him staying in Napoli for next season, although if that happens, reports from Spazio Napoli inform that the Azzurri will lower his salary for the remainder of his contract.

As if that wasn’t enough, Corriere dello Sport reported that Spalletti also requested more competence for Lozano, as Napoli already acquired Georgian left-winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who currently plays for Georgian side Dinamo Batumi after leaving Russian side Rubin Kazan due to the invasion of Ukraine.

Will Lozano remain at Napoli?

Although the idea of Spalletti and di Laurentiis is to part ways with him, “Chucky” Lozano wants to stay at least until the World Cup, which is why he even requested to Spalletti to give him more playing time in either side of the pitch, as the departure of Loreno Insigne could help him be consider more often.
