Hirving “Chucky” Lozano is one of the Mexican players in Europe that can be on the move once the summer transfer window starts, as Napoli has agreed to make him transferable given that Luciano Spalletti hasn’t found a place for him in the lineup.

The Mexican international has been struggling since Carlo Ancelotti left, although his irregularities increased for the past season, as he hasn’t found a place with Spalletti, who replaced Gennaro Gattuso in the Azzurri’s dugout for the 2021-22 season.

Lozano played a total of 30 games this season in Serie A, where he started only in two thirds of them, as injuries kept him out of the pitch for several games, preventing him from earning regularity, including the last game of the year.

Given that Napoli had already ensured the third place in Serie A Lozano missed the end of the season after he was cleared to travel to Mexico to get a shoulder surgery to prevent a more sever injury that could leave him out of the World Cup.

Where will he play next season?

Lozano also decided to get surgery done before the offseason started to be healthy once the preseason started, as his future was still on the air given that Napoli is struggling financially and selling one of the highest-paid players in the roster could help their economy.

The Mexican international has been linked to teams in Premier League, like Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers, and La Liga, like Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid, but according to reports from Corriere dello Sport, he already decided of where he wants to play.

Before flying to Mexico, “Chucky” Lozano asked Luciano Spalletti and Aurelio di Laurentiis to stay one more season in Napoli before making him transferable, as he knows is his best option to earn regularity prior the World Cup, as the Azzurri will play Champions League and he’ll have plenty of chances of earning playing time.

Napoli agreed under one condition

The Azzurri agreed to keep Lozano for at least six more months, as they will consider selling him over the winter transfer window if he doesn’t improve his level. But Lozano’s stay at Napoli will come with a price for him, as he will see his salary get reduced for the 2022-23 Serie A Season.
