Reports suggest that Napoli are willing to sell him over the summer if a good offer arrives, not only because they need the money to stabilize their finances, but also because Luciano Spalletti hasn’t found a way to include him in the starting XI.

According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is set at $37 million, a sum that Napoli expects to earn back from his transfer, although at first, they were looking for at least $50 million, something that few teams can pay.

Although another option that the 26-year-old right-winger has is to remain at Napoli for one more season, as he’s under contract until 2024 and could be sell next season. This option is viable for the Azzurri only if he agrees to lower his salary.

A Mexico international will earn more than him in Napoli

For now, Hirving Lozano has a salary of $5.3 million per season, thanks to the 5-year contract that he agreed with the Azzurri when he joined them back in 2019 but could see it get reduced to $4.5 million if he agrees to stay at least until Qatar 2022.

Lozano could see his salary get surpassed by one of his teammates that plays in Liga MX, as reports from ESPN, Club América is close to agreeing on a contract extension for Guillermo Ochoa, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper currently earns $4.5 million per season, but if the negotiations come to a good term, his salary will increase up to $4.8 million for the next two seasons with an option of adding a third, as he’s looking to at least have two more years wearing Las Águilas colors.

Where can Ochoa play if they don’t agree to terms?

According to reports, Ochoa is being closely followed by a few MLS teams that are looking to improve their links to the Latino and Mexican communities, especially Charlotte FC, who are still searching for a player to become the face of the franchise.
