Mexico National Team will face USMNT, Honduras and El Salvador on the last World Cup Qualifiers match window to be played at the end of March, in a series of games that will not only seal the future of Gerardo “Tata” Martino, but also will start outlining the squad that will play in Qatar 2022.

Santiago Muñoz is finally showing why he’s the striker Mexico National Team needs

“Tata” Martino will secure his place in El Tri’s dugout with a victory over USMNT in Estadio Azteca on March 24, on a game in which Hirving “Chucky” Lozano might not be part of El Tri, although USMNT will also miss some players, as Weston McKennie suffered an injury on Juventus last game, and Gio Reyna also left injured the last game that Borussia Dortmund played.

The absences of USMNT will benefit Mexico National Team, as McKennie currently is the best player that the Bars and Stripes have, even over Christian Pulisic, who has had a season full of up and downs with Chelsea.

On paper, El Tri has advantage over USMNT, who has won the previous three games that both National Teams have had, but Gerardo Martino’s squad still has to find the striker that can finally score regularly, as neither Rogelio Funes Mori nor Henry Martín have fulfilled the expectations.

Who can be the striker that El Tri needs?

Gerardo Martino already gave him the chance of debuting wearing Mexico National Team colors on a friendly match against Chile, played on December, but Santiago Giménez has yet to debut in an official match.

Giménez is coming out of a 5-month drought without goals, and with his recent performances has started to raise the hand to be considered by Martino for El Tri, as he surely is one of the best strikers that Mexico has for the future.

What did Messi say about Santiago Giménez?

Even Lionel Messi knows about the abilities that “Chaquito” Giménez has, as he’s said before that is a great striker with a bright future. He even wished him a happy birthday when the Mexican Argentinean striker turned 18.
