A lot has been said about Carlos Vela’s absence in Mexico National Team, but one thing is true: he’s not going to play again with El Tri. At least not with the current coaching staff and the players Gerardo “Tata” Martino regularly calls.

Not only does Vela has had previously discussed with El Tri’s coach, he also is rumored to have problems with Guillermo Ochoa, one of the most important players in Martino’s squad, that date from years ago. But Andrés Guardado, another leader in the dressing room, also helped to veto Vela.

But now, the 35-year-old midfielder is paying the consequences of abusing his power after he went viral on social media for making fun of Joan Jordán, Sevilla midfielder that was hit with a plastic tube thrown from the stands during the Reound of 16 of Copa del Rey.

What will happen to Guardado?

Although neither Real Betis management nor La Liga have spoken about Guardado’s mocking, he already received backlash from fans, not only Sevillians but from all the soccer world. And even though he already said he didn’t try to make fun of the situation; a lot of people don’t seem to believe his explanation.
