Monterrey wants him no matter what; is willing to pay him the triple he earns now
Rayados is willing to offer him a 4-year contract worth $13 million.
Prior to the start of Clausura 2022, the second round of 2021-22 Liga MX Season, Chivas is facing yet another problem, as Monterrey, the wealthiest team in Mexico, has set their mind in stealing a player out of el Rebaño Sagrado.
This news just adds up to the fact that Alexis Vega is refusing to sign the contract extension that the Guadalajara team offered him, which could end up in another departure for Chivas, as Monterrey is willing to pay him the triple of what he’s earning now with the rojiblancos.
If Monterrey bids the $13 million they’re thinking of offering Chivas for the economic rights of Vega, Guadalajara won’t be able to match the offer and would see one of their most important player leave just days before Chivas plays their first match in 2021.
When is the last day Chivas could sell Alexis Vega?
According to Liga MX rules, the Mexican teams had until January 3 to buy or sell players within the league, although this rules was modified on the past days to give them extra time to complete these transactions. The new date is set until round three of Clausura 2022 is done, and if Chivas doesn’t sell or renew him, he’d have freedom to negotiate with any club.
