Forward Raúl Jiménez will be on the final list that Gerardo Martino will present in the coming days

After he has recovered from a skull fracture, striker Raúl Jiménez has a medical discharge from Wolverhampton and the English club is willing to hand him over to the Mexican National Team for the 2021 Gold Cup next July, but he will hardly have minutes in the field of play during the tournament.

A source consulted by ESPN with knowledge of Jiménez' situation assured that, although the player has received medical discharge almost six months after the very hard head clash with David Luiz that led him to a subsequent surgery, the reality is that Wolverhampton he is unwilling to take any chances with Raúl, who's valued at more than £ 50 million ($ 71 million).

“The idea of his club's to give him the opportunity to go with the Mexican National Team to the United States, to accompany the group, to train, but not to play. The Wolves are not willing to take risks, they want him fully recovered to start the preseason and then he would only be given permission to accompany the group, as he did in Wales in the last call for the National Team”, the source told ESPN, with reference to the few days that Jiménez spent with the Tri Mayor prior to the match on March 27 against the Welsh team.

If it's the case that he cannot use Raúl in the Gold Cup, the Tri coach, Gerardo Martino, will have to make the decision between gambling with the "9" who called the Major such as Henry Martín, Alan Pulido, Alexis Vega and José Juan Macías, or open the deck to other players who have been in previous National Team processes, knowing that Jaime Lozano will also need forwards in July for the Tokyo Olympics.
