He has made his official debut a month ago and he is already creating problems between the US Soccer Federation and Mexico. It happens that both countries are trying to secure Christian Torres, the 16 year-old wonderboy of the Los Angeles FC who had replaced Carlos Vela las Wednesday.

Torres was born in Fontana, a community outside Los Angeles mainly composed by Latinos. His parents are Mexican, Michoacán natives, and his father has been an amateur footballer in neighborhood leagues both in Mexico and in Fontana. Since Torres was born, he saw that his son was special.

Torres started playing at the Los Angeles Galaxy academy, where he was placed as defender. He wasn't considered a prospect and was benched to many times. But the playmaker knew he could shoot and play in the offense, so he pressured until he wasreplaced as forward. Anyway, things didn't changed for him and he finally left to the LAFC academy.

In Los Angeles FC he started playing as offensive midfielder and was quickly spotted as a prospect. He was selected to US U15 national team. Just a year later, he made his professional debut  against Seattle Sounders. Even though Torres is very young, he said he feels confortable in the team and said Carlos Vela advises him and takes a lot of care of him. It is still to be seen if Vela will be able to convince him to represent Mexico.
