Mason Mount by all standards shows the level of progress that has come out from the years of investment and hardwork in the Chelsea academy and it also shows the instinctive decision made by Frank Lampard to trust him and give him his senior debut at the club he has been playing since six years old.

Mount was given a new contract at Chelsea in 2019, with a salary of £77,000 per week and the contract runs out in the summer of 2024 but after becoming an integral part of the club it is only expected that the club will open talks with him over a new contract to help the club tie one of its golden boy down to a lengthy time.

Reports about a new contract had already emerged before Chelsea faced Norwich but there could not have been a better way to show you deserve a new contract than the kind of performance he put up against Norwich City today, scoring a hat-trick on a day when Chelsea were without their two strikers Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

Mason Mount said before the match said he will up his goal scoring game in the absence of the two forwards. The club will certainly offer him a new contract which would come with an improved salary. The club will be willing to offer between £150,000 to £200,000 which is believed to be enough for the 22year old.
