Club Leon rises as the last champion of the Mexican soccer after obtaining the title of the Apertura Guard1anes 2020 tournament, named in honor of all the medical personnel and health workers, who fight in the first line of defense against Coronavirus Covid-19. The Clausura 2020 tournament did not have a champion due to the suspension of the league caused by the pandemic unleashed at the beginning of the same year.

Finally the last two champions of the Apertura 2019 and Clausura 2019 were Rayados de Monterrey and Club Tigres respectively. The first got his fifth league title and Tigres reached 7. America won the Apertura 2018, rising as the top winner of the Mexican football, leaving Chivas de Guadalajara with 12. They are followed by Club Toluca, which despite the 10th league titles, is not considered one of the 4 greats of the Mexican soccer, this surely because of the few fans that the club have outside the city of Toluca.

In fourth place is Cruz Azul with 8 titles, despite having 20 years without winning a championship, although it remains the team with the most runners-up in the history of the Mexican soccer with 11.

They are followed by the Club Leon with 8, Pumas UNAM and the UANL Tigres with 7, Club Santos and Club Pachuca with 6, Rayados de Monterrey with 5, Necaxa 3, Club Puebla 2 and so on ...
