In the run-up to the meeting, the veteran Paraguayan striker had criticized his country's health ministry and CONMEBOL for letting Boca Juniors players travel who still continued to test positive for Covid-19.

In recent days, several Boca Juniors players continued to test positive for coronavirus despite having completed the corresponding recovery time. Despite this, both CONMEBOL and the Paraguayan Ministry of Health allowed the players of the Argentine team to travel.

That is why Oscar Cardozo, one of the referents of Libertad de Paraguay, manifested himself on his social networks and complained about the situation. In them he published a message in which he said he was very angry with both institutions and that neither of them did anything to take care of the players and their families. He also expressed that the protocol was for a few and that they had respected everything to the letter.

Despite the complaints, Cardozo did not appear on the court. His match against Boca Juniors was very bad and Libertad de Paraguay could not beat the Argentine team. In his stadium he lost by 2 to 0 and Cardozo only played 66 minutes.
