On the 1June 16th 2019, Juventus announced the signing of Maurizio Sarri on a three-year contract. One year later, he became the oldest manager to win the Serie A at the age of 61. However, he was sacked the 8th of August 2020, one day after Juventus was eliminated from the Champions League.

Since then, Andrea Pirlo has been leading La Vecchia Signora. However, the Italian club has never officially ended its contract with Sarri. According to Sky Sports Italia, Juventus and Sarri are close to reach an agreement over the termination of the manager's contract.

The Italian club owes Sarri $2.5 million. For this reason, the leaders of the last Serie A champion will try to get Sarri to renounce to this debt. He would agree to terminate his contract for free, because this arrangement also stops the former Chelsea manager from getting a new job.

Sarri also managed Napoli from June 12, 2015 to May 23, 2018 but he did not win any title. He then joined Chelsea on July 14, 2018. The 61-year-old coach led the English team for a year and won the UEFA Europa League 2018-2019 and the EFL Cup the same year, which was the last one of Eden Hazard in London.
