Former soccer player David Beckham, as well as brothers Jorge and José Mas, became the majority owners of Inter Miami CF after acquiring the shares of Marcelo Claure and Masayoshi Son, the professional American soccer league club reported on Friday.
"We are extremely proud of the progress we have made over the last year and a half in Major League Soccer, and we are grateful to have been part of that journey together with Marcelo and Masayoshi," said the Briton in a statement not details of the financial transaction are provided.
"We will continue to work hard to build more memories with our fans, develop youth players from our Academy, compete for championships regularly, and most importantly, embed ourselves in the DNA of our community and South Florida," he added.
The truth is that David Beckham was a strange soccer player on the fields, and he left his mark on all the books, with an unbeatable long-distance punch. However, it is worth noting that a large part of their earnings also originated outside the stadiums, through advertisements, or businesses of this nature.
Inter Miami is a club founded less than four years ago, by David Beckham and a group of investors who bet on the project. The exact date of his birth is January 29, 2018.
Inter Miami accumulates a six-game streak without seeing defeat and is in eighth position, one point from being within the "playoff" this season, the tournament among the seven best in the Eastern Conference and that of the West. This same week, the club announced its first sponsor, the cryptocurrency company XBTO, whose logo will appear on the players' jerseys.
