It is true that the Mexican National Team is the team that won the title the most times, 11 times, but not even in 2021, Donovan could be surpassed in any of his two unbeatable records in the history of the Gold Cup. 

The first mark that could not be beaten in this edition is related to the fact that Landon Donovan is the highest historical scorer of the tournament with 18 goals, being far behind his compatriot Clint Dempsey who remained at 13, plus the Mexicans Zague and Andrés Guardado, who they still have 12.

The second historical record that could not even be broken in 2021 was that of the maximum number of titles in the Gold Cup, where Donovan has four championships, conquered in 2002, 2005, 2007 and 2013, being equaled with Guillermo Ochoa, with the same number.

Meanwhile the last record that he has so far is the one with the most matches played in the Concacaf tournament, with 34 appearances, something that could be surpassed in this edition with who is his closest pursuer, the Panamanian Gabriel Torres, who until now has 32 in three editions. In addition, he is the only player who participated in 6 different editions.
