South American leagues have characterized by always developing strong, fast players with an uncanny ability with the ball, which is why top clubs are already eyeing Gonzalo Plata, Yaser Asprilla and Alan Velasco.

Gonzalo Plata

Gonzalo Plata already plays in Europe, as his economic rights belong to Portuguese side Sporting SP, although he currently is on a 1-year loan with Real Valladolid -Ronaldo Nazario’s club-, in La Liga Smartbank, second tier division of Spain.

When his loan finishes, it’s most probable that he won’t return to Primeira Liga, as his performances have impressed in Spain and can make the jump to a bigger club. So far, the 21-year-old Ecuadorian right-winger has played 16 games, where he’s scored 4 goals. His current market value is set at $5.7 million.

Yaser Asprilla

With only 18 years old, Yaser Asprilla has established himself as one of the most exciting promises in Colombian soccer. So much that English side Watford FC acquired his economic rights for the 2021-22 season, paying $3.5 million.

Although Watford decided that Asprilla stayed on Envigado, in Colombia’s top flight, for the current season, the 18-year-old offensive midfielder will arrive in Premier League next season. His talent even impressed Reinaldo Rueda, who already gave him his first cap with Colombia National Team.

Alan Velasco

Although the Argentinian right-winger just joined MLS side FC Dallas for the 2022 MLS Season on a record-transfer for both Dallas and CA Independiente worth $7 million plus add-ons, it’s undeniable that his talent will place him sooner rather than later in a top European club.

He’s yet to debut with the Cowboys, as the MLS Season starts at the end of February, but during his stint in Independiente, the 19-year-old played 69 games, where he managed to score 8 goals and assist 10 times in the span of two seasons.
