CONMEBOL continues to prepare the details for the 48th edition of the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024, this time, with the announcement of the new mascot during the draw for the Group Stage of the competition, which occurred in Miami this December 7.

The official mascot of the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024 will be an eagle named CAPITÁN that represents the unique fusion between the South American passion for soccer and the vibrant American atmosphere. Daughter of a Latin mother and an American father, CAPITÁN invites us to celebrate the cultural diversity of South America and the US, always respecting the differences between countries.

It is worth noting that, for the creation of this mascot, CONMEBOL considered the symbolic connection with the leadership and nobility that the eagle represents when selecting its name.

We look forward to CAPITÁN beginning to tour the continent's stadiums, spreading the passion and love for football to all fans at the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024, which will be held in the United States from June 20 to July 14, 2024.

Copa America 2024 National Teams

The 2024 Copa América will be played in the United States and includes 10 CONMEBOL teams and 6 guest teams from Concacaf. In this edition, this traditional tournament will be organized by both confederations. The 6 Concacaf teams qualify through the 2023/24 Concacaf Nations League. The already known representative teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean are the United States, Jamaica, Mexico and Panama. The other two Concacaf participants will be confirmed after a Play-In between Canada vs Trinidad and Tobago, and Costa Rica vs Honduras. This Play-In will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
