USA will face Honduras on Wednesday, February 2 in a CONCACAF qualifier match at the Allianz Field. The United States is coming from different results after beating El Salvador and losing in their visit to Canada, this last match moved them away from first place and keeps them in second place along with Mexico. Now against Honduras, they cannot afford to lose points and jeopardize their direct pass to the World Cup.

Behind Canada, which has 22 points, are the United States and Mexico with 18 points, followed by Panama in the playoff zone with 17 points. Basically, all three are fighting to avoid the playoffs, while keeping an eye on Costa Rica, which has 13 points and with a win against Jamaica would be in the fight.

Honduras comes with two defeats against Canada and El Salvador with the same result: 2-0. They are at the bottom of the table with three points and are already thinking about the next round of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

Chris Richards, the center-back, and Tyler Admas, the center midfielder will be out due to the injuries they suffered in the last match against Canada. Gregg Berhalter will have to decide which players use in both positions.

As Zimmerman also had physical problems, the USMNT coach probably will start McKenzie as a central defender, meanwhile, in the midfielder, Acosta seems to be the player that will replace the RB Leipzig player, Tyler Adams. Upfront, Pepi could be a possible starter this time, as he has not been in the starting eleven in the last two games.

Defenders: McKenzie (CB), M. Robinson (CB), Dest (RB), A. Robinson (LB)

Midfielders: Acosta (DM), McKennie (CM), Aaronson (CM)

Forwards: Pulisic (LW), Pepi (St), Musah (RW)
