Mexico will face Panama on Wednesday, February 2 in a CONCACAF qualifier match at the Azteca Stadium. After Sunday's draw with the Ticos, the team coached by Gerardo 'Tata' Martino has left many doubts, and at the end of the match, the fans who attended the Azteca Stadium booed and called for the departure of the national coach.

In the last meeting between the two, they did not take advantage of each other. At the Rommel Fernández Stadium, Panama equalized to one goal against Mexico in September 2021. The powerful Rolando Blackburn gave Los Canaleros the lead, but "Tecatito" Corona tied the game with just over ten minutes to go. Undoubtedly, that match is an example of the parity that could exist at the Azteca.

With 18 points, Mexico is in third place in the CONCACAF Final Round for Qatar 2022, tied with the United States, which lost to Canada, and has one more point than Panama, so a loss would send the Mexican National Team to fourth place, where it would have to fight for a ticket to the World Cup in the playoffs.

Tata Martino will need to make tactical changes to improve El Tri's performance. Héctor Moreno, who has already left with the Monterrey team to play in the Club World Cup, will be one of the changes, and in his place, Néstor Araujo will probably be paired with César Montes.

Another of the changes that are expected from Martino is that he will promote the reappearance of Raul Jimenez as a center forward. In addition, 'Chaka' Rodríguez will be left out of the Mexican national team, and Gerardo Arteaga is expected to play as left-back to fill the gap left by the Tigres player.

Predicted Mexico Lineup vs Costa Rica
