Frank De Boer and Gerardo Martino, the Netherlands and Mexico coaches, had a past for Atlanta United.

The MLS will have a presence in the international friendly match between Mexico and the Netherlands as its two coaches were part of Atlanta United in the past. Both Gerardo Martino, coach of Mexico, and Frank De Boer, coach of the Netherlands, were in MLS at the helm of Atlanta United.

Both Martino and De Boer were part of Atlanta United history as they were the first two coaches since its inception. The Mexico coach was very successful at the helm of Atlanta United, winning the MLS Cup after beating Portland Timbers in the final. For his part, Frank De Boer had a frustrated passage through Atlanta and decided that he should continue his career elsewhere.

It will be De Boer's debut at the helm of the Netherlands team and has already been questioned. His poor results at the helm of Atlanta United and his last teams make the Dutch fans doubt his abilities as a coach. For his part, the coach of Mexico is looking for the ideal team to face the qualifying rounds for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The duel of Mexico against the Netherlands will be very attractive for the MLS fans since in addition to Martino and De Boer, they will be in the Mexican team, Pizarro (Inter Miami player), Pulido (MLS best player of the week for Sporting Kansas City) and Dos Santos (LA Galaxy player).
