Zinedine Zidane has relied a lot on the same three midfielders: Luka Modric, Casemiro and Toni Kroos. The former is set to extend his contract and stay at Real Madrid for one of two years more, but he is 34 years old and his decline will be unavoidable. So the coach started looking for alternatives.
He wants a new midfielder so he can be mentored by the Croatian and take his place when he leaves. So the first that came him to mind was a 23-year-old international who caused many troubles to him and his team, when he faced his team not so long ago in a Champions League match.
That player is Florian Neuhaus, who emerged as one of the best players in Borussia Mönchengladbach and made his debut with Germany. Sky Sports reported that Zinedine Zidane is not alone in that pursue, because Bayern Munich is after him too. A big offer would be needed for his club letting him go, because his release close goes around 40 million euro.
This way, Neuhaus would be mentored by midfield masters and having Toni Kroos as one of them would make his adaptation easier. But it will not be an easy choice, because in Bayern Munich he has almost guaranteed the success in Germany, where both options are serious Europe contenders.
