The Tottenham board is still looking for its next coach and, to the surprise of many, the name of Ernesto Valverde has begun to sound as one of the possible candidates to fill the bench that José Mourinho left last season. The information was published by the Spanish newspaper ‘Sports’, where the journalist Fabrizio Romando is quoted.

The latter mentioned that there was already communication between the English cast and the Spanish coach. Following the cited source, Valverde would fit in with the 'spurs' projects, in the sense that he is a coach who does not arrive with a single idea of the game, which he was able to demonstrate in the teams he trained. Likewise, the board of the English club would have had contact with him because the conversations with Gennaro Gattuso were interrupted last Thursday. Ralf Rangnick and Eric ten Hag are also options.

As is well know, the Spanish strategist left the Camp Nou in January 2020 after having won two league titles, a Copa del Rey and a Spanish Super Cup with FC Barcelona. With Athletic Bilbao, he also managed to win a Super Cup in the 2015-2016 season.

It is important to mention that the coach has not trained for a year and a half, since since he was dismissed from the Catalan cast, he has not managed any team again. The ‘Txingurri’, as they know him in the world of football, would be evaluating the ideal offer to return to the bench. Finally, the president of the institution, Daniel Levy, must make a decision as soon as possible. However, the option of having Valverde as coach is not a bad idea, as his defensive style would help them to have a good campaign in the Premier League.
