The Mexican National Team finished as leader of the Concacaf octagonal after beating El Salvador in Cuscatlán, so there are possibilities that they will be seeded for the Qatar World Cup 2022 and would be in Pot 1 of the draw. In fact, the Tri commanded by Tata Martino would be fighting for the last place as seed against three other teams: Spain (1688 points), Portugal (1682 points) and Denmark (1673 points), while Mexico has 1673 units.

The other selections that would occupy place as seeded are Belgium, Brazil, France, Italy, England, Argentina and the host Qatar, reason why the Tri would be in the pot one with all the aforementioned representatives. Nevertheless, Since the World Cup qualification is not over yet, there could be changes in the positions of the FIFA ranking and Mexico could move up positions, since they currently occupy the ninth position.

Currently, the Tricolor team is the leader of the Concacaf octagonal with 14 points, while the United States is second with 11 points and Canada third with 10. With yesterday's victory by 2 to 0 against El Salvador in Cuscatlán, it has marked its path , and will seek in the next round of playoffs, to seal their classification. However, it goes for more.
