The president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, acknowledged this Friday that he is in talks with FC Barcelona to find out how the renovation of Lionel Messi is going, but he was very blunt in ensuring that they do not speak of "modifying the regulations" so that the Argentine continues to wear blaugrana.

“I speak with Barça about the Messi issue and ask how things are going. They tell me that they have hopes that such a player will leave or that such a player will stay but lowering his salary. That is the only information I have, but of course we are not talking about modifying the regulations so that Messi stays at FC Barcelona ”, he indicated.

Tebas, who made these statements before the Champions Gala, which this Friday honored Atlético de Madrid and Espanyol for their titles in the First and Second Division last year, insisted that “there is nothing planned” to “modify anything” and change the rules of the game in relation to the salary limit that is condemning the Blaugranas.
