Chivas is getting ready for the playoffs of the tournament Guard1anes. The Rebaño Sagrado ended seventh, after earning 26 points on 17 matches played and will now play against Necaxa. But despite the immediate compromises head coach Víctor Vucetich is already thinking on what’s coming next.
Vucetich is working with sport adviser Ricardo Peláez trying to find who could be the signings for the next season. Vucetich has made clear that he wants a goalkeeper, as both José Antonio Rodríguez and Raúl Gudiño didn’t perform as expected and made Chivas lose some important games during the past campaign.
To not repeat the same errors, Chivas is chasing a keeper that helped them win many titles, such as Rodolfo Cota. Aged 33 he is now playing at León on a loan from Monterrey and must go back on June 2022 to his old club. The Rebaño Sagrado consider that his signing will end with the problems of goals received.
Cota played for Chivas since 2015 to 2018 under Matías Almeyda’s mandate, gaining important titles as Copa MX, Supercopa MX, Liga MX and Concacaf Liga de Campeones. He knows the club and Vucetich thinks that his experience and his talent could help them a lot in such a moment.
